There is an entire campaign to stop south park getting seen (and to replace it with Whedon and\or Disney) on the grounds that it is unimaginative, stupid and offensive. What would others say to this. *(By the way, yes, this is just a point on a graph). If you ask me these people should stop reading The Sun (and the News Of The World).

Unimaginative?
That's the most ridiculous thing i'v heard all afternoon.
South Park is in my opinion the funniest, and most imaginative show on television.
I'm glad it has these idiots rallying against it though, kind makes me appreciate its brilliance even more

omg... people can be so stupid and easily offended...
But accually I'd be surprised if no-one was offended by South Park, something would be really wrong and it wouldn't really be as funny making fun of people if they didn't get bad, so in a way these pissed off idiots is the fuel of South Park.

...but still PLEASE! Learn how to take a joke dammit!

This is something I hate, when people are like "I hate this show, so I want it off the air. Nobody else should be allowed to have it either", as opposed to the traditional "I hate this show, and so I will use this wonderful contraption called a TV remote and see what else is on.".

Yeah exactly. Just because someone hates a show they want it off the air? Fucking the world doesn't revolve around that person so they need to go fuck off. Also they can't use the "Oh it bad for my children, they are swearing now" cause if you can't stop them from watching south park your a terrible parent. Also there are tool that can block the shows.
I'm referring to all the people who want South Park off the air as "you."

Makes me wonder how long Jerry Springer was on air. That was even worse.
But anyway, as a Southpark fan, I want it to stay on air, off course.
well I can see why people like christian might get offended but hey, if they don't like they shouldn't watch it anyways. Also I think kids shouldn't watch this show. I know some1 who's 10 years old and listens to 'kyle's mom is a bitch' from his mobile phone and can sing that song without any error in lyrics. Thats just wrong. I just don't like that part of southpark.
But heck, the responsibility should go to the parents and not the producers of the show. It clearly says that everybody should be above 17 for watching the show so it isn't their fault if kids don't listen to that.
I know some of you are prob. below 17 and watching but nobody can blame the producers for that.

True, but I think you're mature enough for south park before you're at the age of 17. I mean, I'm turnin 15 this summer and been watching for like 2 years maybe... and everybody in my age that I know is mature enough for it. But still I don't wan't like my little brother watching it. (He's 5 atm). But I guess it's up to the parents to decide if their kids can handle watching the show.

Hey.. I'm 12. Well, just turned 13, but I prefer being 12.
I watch SP. It didn't really make me more... uh, naughty. I got a little more agressive and smarter. But really, it's not much worser than the stuff I hear at school.

I am myself a fan of south park. I'm merely stating some facts. People do make speeches in which they say they want south park to be disregarded in its entirety. Haven't you heard them and what are your responses.
I am not pro taking it off the air but others are. They don't appear to give a fuck about my opinion, that they are in the wrong.

Oh, and the two people who reckon this question doesn't count? Wrong, because (a) Joss Whedon is a total asswipe (

emo's are cool © Rowling is a vicious little cocksucker. So pardon me if "u r a fag", "preety lame", "to be pissed"; offends whatever well-to-do circles you might be from. If you actually take issue with what I've just said then you know what, fuck you, man. South Park kicks ass, and it doesn't cross lines, too. Having seen cartoon wars I begin to realize family guy is the show that is disliked as much as south park. Not that it stops my point.

South Park is a great show. I don't see why people want it stopped. Well, these are probably the same people who don't believe in freedom of speech. And Family Guy is okay too, it's mostly for those who are just looking for humor, which I see nothing wrong with.

I think south park is actually a very inventive show and is willing to try new directions. The newer series have much less swearing, it is now only used when needed. I think the show actually has better moral and political grounds than other shows: it's willing to portray most things, homosexuality, religion, science, disability in the correct light. Though the only issue I have with it is that they don't accept global warming while I do, also one of my friends started rejecting it on the grounds of this show after doing no research into it. But besides that it's a pretty decent show.
I think it's because in the first couple of series it was controversial with much swearing and sexual images that people found juvenile and offensive, the show's grown up a lot since then and does it with a bit more maturity now, but people are still stuck with the original impression of South Park.

I wouldn't necessarily call these people easily offended... actually, people who watch the show are just very, very hard to offend.
Having said that, if you don't like it, change the channel. It's narcisisstic to think that you can demand that every channel on TV show only what YOU like and want to watch.
(Disclaimer: Narcisissm is a scientific term for a real psychological disorder. I do not use it lightly.)

I understand the feeling, but I think that's taking it a leeeeetle far. It's much easier to get offended by South Park than by the smurfs. The "South Park is Evil!" people are shocked and offended by things that are shocking and offensive. (Dare I say it... understandably so. Don't throw things at me!) But the "Smurfs are Evil!" people are just freaking
nuts!(Disclaimer: "Nuts" is not exactly as scientific as "Narcisissm". But I still don't use it lightly. XD)

South Park has for ever been a very controversial show. Many people just don't give it a chance, more still can't get past the "crude humor" (stuck-up pricks), and of course people of just about every religon and ideology. My mother for one was very against South Park (i was forbade to watch) but now (living on my own, 7 years later) i've gotten her to appreciate it.
The way I got her to watch it really showed me, it's people's mind set going into an episode that ruin it.
I managed to get her to watch Trey and Matts "Team America" and she loved it, the humor, the shitty puppets, all of it. So i put it to her this way, "go into this episode (of South Park) thinking how much you liked Team America instead of thinking about how "offensive" you've HEARD South Park is. (It helped also that Die Hippie Die was the episode I showed her, since she is an old hippie from the Woodstock days)
She now enjoys i'd say 50% of the episodes and is enjoying the show more and more...it's all about mindset for noobies, espically for earlier generations (old people).
